Blairstown police announce road closures, parking plan for July 3 fireworks

BLAIRSTOWN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — The Blairstown Township Police Department is advising residents and visitors of road closures and parking restrictions for the Blairstown Rotary’s annual Independence Day fireworks celebration on Friday, July 3.

The fireworks display is scheduled to begin shortly after 9 p.m. at North Warren Regional High School, 10 Noe Road. The rain date is Friday, July 10.

Police said Lambert Road will close to traffic at approximately 9 p.m., and parking will not be permitted along the roadway.

Visitors planning to watch the fireworks from the high school property should expect a short walk to the viewing area. Handicapped parking will be available near the viewing area, but no other public parking will be permitted there.

Public parking will be available in the lacrosse field across from North Warren Regional High School. Vehicles will enter and exit the parking area through the driveway directly across Lambert Road from the school. Traffic control officers and signs will direct motorists.

A designated pedestrian walkway has been installed from the parking field to the fireworks viewing area. Police are asking pedestrians to use the walkway rather than the vehicle entrance for safety.

Following the fireworks, motorists leaving the parking field will be required to turn left onto Lambert Road toward Route 94. Lambert Road will be closed in the direction of Cedar Lake Road.

With extremely hot weather expected, police are encouraging attendees to bring water and stay hydrated. Anyone who begins feeling ill is advised to notify a police officer on scene or call 911 in the event of an emergency.
