Boil water advisory lifted for four Warren County communities after main break
WARREN COUNTY, N.J. — New Jersey American Water announced Thursday that the boil water advisory affecting Franklin Township, Mansfield Township, Washington Borough and Washington Township has been lifted following successful water quality testing.
The company said its Water Quality Team collected samples from the distribution system earlier this week, and results confirmed the water met state and federal safety standards.
“We are pleased to report that the repairs have been completed, and subsequent water quality testing shows the water quality to be safe,” New Jersey American Water said in a statement.
The advisory was issued earlier in the week after a water main break near Prospect Street and Church Street in Washington Borough caused outages and low pressure across the affected communities. Crews have since completed repairs and restored service.
During the advisory, residents were instructed to boil tap water for one minute before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, washing produce, making ice or cleaning dishes.
