Morris County business among eight added to NJ labor violations ‘WALL’ list

BUTLER, N.J. (Morris County) — A business with a location in Butler is among eight companies newly added to the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development’s Workplace Accountability in Labor List, also known as “The WALL,” for unresolved labor law violations.

Dirty-Jerzy Supplies LLC, doing business as DJ Supplies, which operates at 1369 Route 23 in Butler and another location in Ringwood, was added to the list on April 2. The company owes $98,143.73 in unpaid contributions, penalties and interest, according to the state.

The violations involve the state’s Unemployment Compensation Law, Temporary Disability Benefits Law and Family Temporary Disability Leave Law, officials said.

The WALL publicly identifies businesses that have failed to resolve outstanding liabilities related to wage, benefit or tax laws. Companies listed are barred from receiving public contracts with state, county or local governments until their debts are paid in full.

In total, the eight businesses added in April owe $758,715.68. The list now includes 364 employers statewide with combined outstanding liabilities of $32.9 million.

The initiative, launched in 2023, is designed as an enforcement tool to hold businesses accountable and protect workers, while also preventing unfair competition against companies that comply with labor laws.

Before being placed on the list, businesses are notified and given 20 days to resolve their liabilities or challenge the action.

Officials said one business was removed from the list this month after resolving its obligations. Since the program began, the state has recovered more than $884,000 from businesses either listed or warned of pending inclusion.

The WALL was established through bipartisan legislation in 2020 to address wage violations and worker misclassification.

A full list of businesses and additional information is available through the New Jersey Department of Labor website.
