Cafe Crevier closed ‘until further notice’ after fire in Denville

DENVILLE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — Cafe Crevier will remain closed until further notice following a fire that occurred at the restaurant in the early morning hours of June 2, according to a statement released through attorney Matheu D. Nunn on behalf of co-owner Brittany.

The fire caused significant damage to the popular Denville restaurant, prompting the temporary suspension of operations while officials investigate the cause and assess the future of the business.

In a statement, Brittany expressed gratitude that no one was injured in the incident.

“In the early morning hours of June 2, 2026, a fire occurred at my beloved restaurant Cafe Crevier in Denville. As the Café’s Co-owner, I am beyond grateful that no one was injured, and my thoughts remain with our employees, customers, and community members who have supported the Café over the years.”

She said the extent of the damage will require the restaurant to cease operations for the time being.

“Unfortunately, due to the severity of the fire, the Café will be forced to close operations until further notice. The focus at this time is on ensuring the safety of the property and evaluating the path forward for the business and its dedicated employees.”

Local fire officials are investigating the cause of the blaze.

“Local fire officials are conducting a thorough investigation into this incident. I am cooperating with all authorities and will continue to do so as their work progresses.”

No injuries were reported in connection with the fire.

Officials have not yet released information regarding the cause of the fire or a timeline for the completion of the investigation.
