Hunterdon County releases spring parks and recreation newsletter

HUNTERDON COUNTY, N.J. — Hunterdon County officials have released the Spring 2026 edition of the county’s Parks and Recreation “Harbinger” newsletter, highlighting upcoming programs, events and activities for residents.

The seasonal publication outlines a range of recreational and educational opportunities available throughout the county park system, including nature programs, special events and family-friendly activities planned for the spring.

“The Harbinger is a valuable resource for residents looking to discover all that our county parks have to offer,” said Commissioner Director John E. Lanza. “This spring edition highlights a wide range of programs and events that give people of all ages the chance to get outdoors, stay active, and enjoy Hunterdon County’s beautiful natural spaces.”

Among the featured events is a bus trip to the Bronx Zoo scheduled for Saturday, April 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. The trip includes transportation and admission to the zoo, which is home to more than 600 species.

The newsletter also highlights the return of “Baby Walks,” a free program led by Principal Naturalist Laura Bush that offers guided nature walks for families with young children. Advance registration is required.

“These programs are just a few examples of the many opportunities available through our Parks and Recreation Department,” Lanza added. “I encourage residents to review the newsletter, visit our parks, and take part in the activities offered this season.”

The Spring 2026 Harbinger newsletter is available online.
