Congressman Kean selected to serve on Energy and Commerce Committee for the 119th Congress

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) Friday was appointed to serve on the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Energy and Commerce for the 119th Congress.

The Energy and Commerce Committee is the oldest standing legislative committee in the U.S. House of Representatives.

“I am honored to be selected to serve on the Energy and Commerce Committee, where I look forward to working with my colleagues to address the critical issues facing our nation’s energy future, research and development, and economy,” Kean said. “Our work will shape the path forward for innovation, sustainability, and opportunity for New Jerseyans and people across our nation.”

The committee has responsibility for matters including telecommunications, consumer protection, food and drug safety, public health and research, environmental quality, energy policy, and interstate and foreign commerce, among others.

Born and raised in Northwest NJ, Jay has a degree in Communications and has had a life-long interest in local radio and various styles of music. Jay has held numerous jobs over the years such as stunt car driver, bartender, voice-over artist, traffic reporter (award winning), NY Yankee maintenance crewmember and peanut farm worker. His hobbies include mountain climbing, snowmobiling, cooking, performing stand-up comedy and he is an avid squirrel watcher.
