Two passengers charged following traffic stop in Morris County

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A traffic stop last summer in Mount Olive resulted in charges against two passengers after police discovered stolen merchandise and one individual allegedly provided a false identity, police said Monday.

On July 3, 2024, around 3:40 p.m., police stopped a black Honda Accord on Route 80 East after observing the vehicle on Route 46 at International Drive South. A registration check revealed that the license plate did not belong to the vehicle.

The driver, identified as Cesar Ortizurbina, 45, of Paramus, was issued summonses for operating an unregistered vehicle, operating an uninsured vehicle, and displaying fictitious license plates. He was released pending a court appearance.

Police observed two passengers and a large amount of merchandise in the back seat. The male passenger initially provided a false name but was later identified as Brian J. Williams, 51, of Little Ferry. Williams was wanted on multiple warrants totaling $3,500 from Elmwood Park and Fairfield. He was arrested and charged with shoplifting and hindering apprehension. Williams was released on his own recognizance pending court proceedings.

The female passenger, identified as Bonnie Nisi, 50, of Lincoln Park Borough, was turned over to Mansfield Township police in connection with merchandise allegedly stolen from a Walmart in Mansfield.

Later, Mount Olive police obtained a warrant for Nisi’s arrest on a charge of receiving stolen property related to the incident. On June 10, 2025, authorities were notified that Nisi was being held at Bergen County Correctional Facility on unrelated charges. She was transferred to Morris County Correctional Facility on June 12, where she remains pending a court hearing.
