Mansfield Township police launches driver safety program for new drivers and individuals on the autism spectrum

MANSFIELD TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – The Mansfield Township Police Department is introducing a driver safety program aimed at assisting new drivers and those on the autism spectrum.

The initiative’s primary goal is to create a safe, low-stress environment for participants to experience a mock motor vehicle stop.

During the program, officers will provide valuable information on the proper conduct during a traffic stop, including general driver safety tips, the importance of safe driving, and what to do if pulled over or involved in an accident.

This program is available at no cost to residents of Mansfield Township. Participants are welcome to bring a parent, guardian, caretaker, or licensed driving instructor for support. Sessions will typically be held in the police department parking lot.

To participate in the program, interested individuals should contact Sergeant Russell at erussell@mansfieldtownship-nj.gov to schedule an appointment.
