Crews extinguish house fire in Hunterdon County

READINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – Emergency services responded to a residential fire on Old York Road in the Three Bridges section of Readington Township on Friday evening.

The blaze caused significant damage to the home; however, no residents or pets were injured, according to Readington Township Lieutenant Steven Rindock.

Multiple fire companies responded to the scene, and a tanker task force was deployed to help control the fire, officials said.

One volunteer firefighter was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene. It is unclear which fire company he was with, and it is unknown whether he was transported to the hospital for further treatment, Rindock said.

Preliminary investigations suggest the fire does not appear to be suspicious, Rindock said.
