Daytime and overnight travel restrictions scheduled for portions of I-78 between toll bridge and exit 3 in New Jersey

WARREN COUNTY, NJ – The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission has announced the following travel-lane restrictions scheduled to be in effect along portions of the commission’s 4.2-mile-long I-78 highway jurisdiction in New Jersey between Wednesday, Sept. 20, and Saturday, Sept. 23:

  • I-78 Eastbound from the I-78 Toll Bridge at the Delaware River to the first New Jersey exit — Phillipsburg /Routes 22 and 173 interchange (Exit 3)
    • Wednesday, Sept. 20 — 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. — right lane closure (one of three lanes closed) starting in the vicinity of the I-78 Toll Bridge for drainage repairs
    • Thursday, Sept. 21 — 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. — right lane closure (one of three lanes closed) starting in the vicinity of the I-78 Toll Bridge for drainage repairs
    • Thursday, Sept. 21 — 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (next day) — travel restricted to a single lane (two of three lanes closed) for roadway asphalt joint rehabilitation work
    • Friday, Sept. 22 — 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.(next day) — travel restricted to a single lane (one of three lanes closed) for roadway asphalt joint rehabilitation work
  • I-78 Westbound from the Phillipsburg/Routes 22 and 173 interchange (Exit 3) to the I-78 Toll Bridge
    • Thursday, Sept. 21 — 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. (next day) — travel restricted to a single lane (two of three lanes closed) for roadway asphalt joint rehabilitation work
    • Friday, Sept. 22 — 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. (next day) — travel restricted to a single lane (two of three lanes closed) for roadway asphalt joint rehabilitation work

Motorists are urged to reduce speeds and exercise caution when traveling through active work zones. Travel impacts — if any — should be minor.
