Driver injured after ice strikes windshield on I-80 in Warren County

ALLAMUCHY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A driver was injured after ice dislodged from a vehicle and struck the windshield of their car on I-80 in Warren County Wednesday morning, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Jeffrey Lebron.

Troopers responded to the motor vehicle incident at 8:05 a.m. on Interstate 80 eastbound, milepost 22, in Allamuchy Township, Lebron said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that ice had dislodged from an unknown vehicle and struck the windshield of a Jeep SUV. The driver sustained minor injuries. The incident remains under investigation, Lebron added.

A similar incident occurred Tuesday morning when ice dislodged from an unidentified tractor-trailer and struck the windshield of an Audi passenger vehicle on Interstate 80 in Hope Township. The driver also sustained minor injuries.
