Driver killed in crash on I-80 in Morris County, state police say

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A Pennsylvania man was killed Friday after his vehicle left the roadway and overturned on Interstate 80 in Morris County, according to New Jersey State Police.

Troopers responded to a motor vehicle crash at 12:27 p.m. on I-80 west near milepost 25.4 in Mount Olive Township, State Police spokesman Trooper II Christopher Postorino said.

A preliminary investigation found that Dennis Wynn, 63, of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, was driving a BMW SUV westbound when he lost control of the vehicle. The SUV ran off the roadway to the right, struck the end of a guardrail and a light post, then traveled down an embankment and overturned.

Wynn sustained fatal injuries in the crash, authorities said.

The incident remains under investigation, and no additional information was immediately available.
