Driver seriously injured in I-287 crash in Morris County, state police say

HANOVER TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A Pennsylvania man sustained serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 287 South in Morris County on Saturday evening, according to the New Jersey State Police.

Troopers responded to the crash at approximately 5:09 p.m. at milepost 37.8 in Hanover Township, State Police Sgt. Charles Marchan said.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a Subaru was traveling southbound on I-287 when it ran off the roadway and struck a tree. The driver, identified as Yan Perez, 29, of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No additional information was immediately available.
