Easton-Phillipsburg ‘free bridge’ to see lane reductions Sept. 10 for lighting work

The Northampton Street Toll-Supported Bridge, commonly known as the Easton-Phillipsburg “free bridge,” will be reduced to a single travel lane in each direction from 8 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Sept. 10.

The temporary restriction will allow Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission maintenance crews to perform work on the bridge’s architectural lighting system.

Motorists are advised to reduce speeds and use caution while traveling through the work zone.

Travel delays are not anticipated, according to officials.
