Explore Hunterdon to host first-ever ‘Battle of I-95 Fan Fest’ on Aug. 17 in Flemington

“A Fun Day for Sports Enthusiasts And The Ultimate Showdown Between the Birds and G-men Sports Fans”

FLEMINGTON, NJ (Hunterdon County) – The Explore Hunterdon Tourism initiative, in partnership with the Flemington Community Partnership and the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce announce the first ever, “Battle of I-95 Fan Fest!” scheduled for Aug. 17 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Flemington on Stangl Road (between Flemington DIY and Lone Eagle Brewing).

The event is free to attend and open to all sports enthusiasts, especially fans of the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants football teams.

Deputy Director Susan Soloway, who serves as the liaison to the Department of Economic Development and Tourism said, “Hunterdon County sits at the nexus of the New York and Philadelphia sports markets, making it a unique crossroads where the two cities’ markets converge, offering the best of both worlds to sports fans.”

The event will be featured on Audacy’s Philadelphia and New York radio stations, WIP and WFAN, and hosted by former professional football players, Otis Anderson and Hugh Douglas, who will serve as team captains for fan challenges. Philadelphia and New York football fans will enjoy contests, games, trivia, raffle prizes, and a 579 Trail tailgate cook off.

The Battle of I-95 Fan Fest! is the latest Explore Hunterdon tourism initiative highlighting local farms, businesses, and activities in Hunterdon County. Some participating businesses include Lone Eagle Brewing, Gorgeous Goat Creamery, Bobolink, Blue Moon Farm, Haring Family Farm, Bread & Culture, and Cabbage Throw Farm, 55 Main Café at HealthQuest, Humdoo Ice Cream and many other boutique businesses along Stangl Road where the event is located.

“The Stangl Arts & Cultural District is a colorful farm-to-festival event location, featuring repurpose railroad buildings and an iconic pottery factory. Our events bring a high-spirited community who love to celebrate outdoor events all year-round. We are thrilled to partner with the county to bring new audiences to our streets,” said Executive Director at Flemington Business Improvement District Robin Lapidus.

Explore Hunterdon will continue promoting Hunterdon’s vibrant agritourism, farm-to-table, main streets, and outdoor activities to visitors in the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York regions.

“Bringing Philadelphia and New York football fans together fosters a sense of community and sportsmanship, making it a memorable day for fans of all ages,” Soloway said.
