Firefighters battle barn blaze in Warren County; cause under investigation

MANSFIELD TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — Multiple fire departments responded Saturday afternoon to a barn fire in the Port Murray section of Mansfield Township, according to officials.

The Mansfield Township Fire Company, along with Tri-County Volunteer Fire Company and the Independence First Aid Squad, were dispatched around 2:24 p.m. to the 200 block of Main Street for a reported structure fire.

When crews arrived, they found a two-story barn engulfed in flames. Additional mutual aid units from across Warren County were called to assist due to the intensity of the fire.

Firefighters worked for several hours to bring the blaze under control. All units cleared the scene around 5 p.m., officials said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Warren County Fire Marshal’s Office and the Mansfield Township Police Department.
