Hackettstown announces ‘Adopt-a-Tree’ program for town residents

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) — Hackettstown’s “Adopt-a-Tree” program, which offers residents a selection of shade trees for planting, is back again this year.

Residents may choose from three species: Hedge maple, red maple, and Snow Goose cherry, officials said.

Eligible residents interested in having a shade tree planted by the town within the right-of-way of their property are asked to email dpw@hackettstown.net with their tree selection, home address, and contact information. A town representative will follow up.

This offer is available only to Hackettstown taxpayers, not residents with Hackettstown mailing addresses who live outside the town limits, officials emphasized.
