Hackettstown announces winners of annual ‘Spook the House’ Halloween decorating contest

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) — Five homes have been named winners of Hackettstown’s annual “Spook the House” Halloween decorating contest, recognized for their creativity, community spirit and festive displays.

On Oct. 30, 2025, officer Kevin MacQuesten, along with Mayor Jerry DiMaio and Hackettstown Business Improvement District (BID) Executive Director Laurie Rapisardi, visited the winning homes to congratulate residents and present prizes.

Each winner received BID Bucks and a yard sign courtesy of the Hackettstown BID, along with goodies from WRNJ Radio and a Winning Certificate from the Hackettstown Police Department.

“Congratulations to all of our winners for their creativity, Halloween spirit and spooktacular decorations,” organizers said in a statement. “Hackettstown truly came alive with frightful fun this year.”

Town officials thanked all residents who participated in the contest and helped make Hackettstown “the most boo-tifully spooky town around” for Halloween 2025.

Born and raised in Northwest NJ, Jay has a degree in Communications and has had a life-long interest in local radio and various styles of music.
