Hackettstown launches Adopt-a-Tree program for residents

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) — The Town of Hackettstown is inviting residents to participate in its Adopt-a-Tree program, which offers shade trees to be planted in the public right-of-way in front of eligible properties.

Residents who live within town limits may request a tree by emailing the Department of Public Works with their preferred species, home address and contact information. Available tree options include Hedge Maple, Red Maple and Snow Goose Cherry.

Requests must be submitted by March 23, 2026. Town officials said a representative will contact residents after their information is received.

The program is open only to residents who live within the Town of Hackettstown. Officials noted that individuals with a Hackettstown mailing address who reside outside municipal boundaries are not eligible.
