Heroin distribution investigation leads to two arrests in Warren County

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — Two people were arrested and charged following a narcotics investigation into the alleged distribution of heroin in Washington Township, authorities said.

On Jan. 14, members of the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force and the Washington Township Police Department executed a search warrant in the 100 block of Bowerstown Road after a prolonged investigation, according to authorities.

Investigators identified Alicia M. Todd, 29, and Jaime L. Tompkins, 47, both of Washington Township, as suspects in the investigation. Both were arrested, processed and lodged in the Warren County Correctional Center.

Todd and Tompkins were charged on complaint warrants with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, specifically suspected heroin; possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute; distribution of a controlled dangerous substance; and conspiracy to distribute a controlled dangerous substance by conspiring with each other, authorities said. All charges are third-degree crimes.

Third-degree crimes carry a potential sentence of up to five years in New Jersey state prison.

Authorities said the investigation was conducted by the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force and the Washington Township Police Department, with assistance from other law enforcement agencies.
