Hunterdon County Commissioners honor Jackson Selquist for earning Eagle Scout rank

FLEMINGTON, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — The Hunterdon County Board of County Commissioners formally recognized Jackson Selquist, a member of Scouts of America Troop 62, for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout during its June 17 meeting.

Commissioner Director John E. Lanza praised Selquist for his service and leadership. “Jackson’s accomplishments represent the very best of our youth — service, scholarship, and the ambition to make a lasting difference,” Lanza said.

Selquist’s Eagle Scout project focused on redesigning and restoring the memorial garden at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Flemington, where his family are long-time members. The project included new plantings, improved accessibility and creating a welcoming space for reflection.

In addition to his Scouting achievements, Selquist was named an AP Scholar with Distinction and is a member of the Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society. He plans to study political science at Syracuse University this fall.

The board congratulated Selquist on his accomplishments and wished him success in his future academic and leadership endeavors.
