Hunterdon County senior artists celebrated at Historic Courthouse exhibit
FLEMINGTON, N.J. (Hunterdon County) – Commissioners Jeff Kuhl and Susan J. Soloway recently visited the Senior Art Show at the Historic Hunterdon County Courthouse, where they praised the creative works on display by senior residents from across the county.
Hosted by the Hunterdon County Senior Center in partnership with the Hunterdon County Cultural & Heritage Commission and other agencies, the event celebrates the artistic expression and talent of older adults in the community.
“Our senior artists are incredibly talented – and it’s inspiring to see,” said Kuhl. “I’m proud that our Senior Center offers a wide variety of programs that enrich the lives of our older residents every day.”
Commissioner Soloway added, “Walking through the exhibit, I was struck by the beautiful collection of artwork and the diversity of expression each piece portrayed. Hunterdon’s seniors have not only lived colorful lives — they’re still creating them.”
The exhibit, which debuted June 21 as part of the Flemington House Tour, includes 161 pieces of art ranging from acrylic and watercolor paintings to sculptures, photography, digital art, mixed media and drawings. Special viewings were offered exclusively to Senior Center members on June 24 and 25, with free transportation provided by LINK.
Adding to the cultural experience, attendees also had the opportunity to take guided tours of the Historic Courthouse led by Sheriff Fred Brown.
The Senior Art Show is open to the public by appointment or during regular hours—11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday—beginning July 2 through August 22, 2025.
