Hunterdon County Senior Center to host American Revolution presentation

RARITAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — The Hunterdon County Senior Center will host a historical presentation later this month highlighting key moments from the American Revolution as the nation approaches the 250th anniversary of independence.

The program, titled “Remembering the American Revolution,” will be held Friday, March 20, at 11:30 a.m. at the senior center.

The presentation will be led by Joel Farkas and will explore well-known events and stories from the nation’s founding, including Paul Revere’s ride, George Washington’s crossing of the Delaware River, the Battle of Bunker Hill and the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The program will also examine some of the myths and legends that have become part of American history.

“As we approach the 250th anniversary of American Independence, programs like this offer a meaningful opportunity to reflect on our nation’s history,” Hunterdon County Commissioner Shaun Van Doren said in a statement. “The Senior Center continues to provide enriching educational experiences that bring residents together to learn, share ideas and stay engaged.”

Organizers said the program is designed to spark discussion and offer participants new perspectives on Revolutionary War history through an interactive and educational format.

The presentation is open to Hunterdon County residents age 60 and older who are enrolled members of the Senior Center.
