Man arrested for DWI after falling off motorcycle in Warren County

LOPATCONG TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A Warren County man was arrested for DWI after allegedly falling off his motorcycle while attempting to park it in Lopatcong Township.

On Nov. 15, at around 12:27 p.m., police responded to Aspen Lane for a report of a motorcycle crash. Upon arrival, officers identified Wayne Engel of Lopatcong Township as the driver. However, it was determined that Engel had not crashed but had instead fallen off his motorcycle while attempting to park it, police said.

Witnesses confirmed Engel had been operating the motorcycle prior to the fall. After failing Field Sobriety Tests, Engel was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI). He was processed at Lopatcong Police Headquarters, where his blood alcohol content (BAC) was found to be 0.145%, above the legal limit of 0.08%, police said.

Engel was also charged with driving while suspended, failure to install an ignition interlock system, and failure to have a motorcycle endorsement. He was released pending a court appearance, police said.
