Man facing DWI, weapons charges after 2-vehicle crash on Route 517 in Warren County, state police say

ALLAMUCHY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A Hackettstown man is facing several charges following a two-vehicle crash Tuesday night in Warren County, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Charles Marchan.

The crash happened at around 8:59 p.m. on County Route 517 southbound at milepost 19, Allamuchy Township, Marchan said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Chrysler and Honda were involved in a collision, Marchan said.

The driver and passenger in the Honda suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to an area hospital, Marchan said.

The driver of the Chrysler, Fredis R. Lopez, 40, was charged with assault by auto, unlawful possession of a weapon, and driving while intoxicated. He was lodged in Warren County Jail pending a detention hearing, Marchan said.

This remains an active investigation and no additional information was available, Marchan said.
