Man fatally struck by NJ Transit train in Union County

SUMMIT, N.J. (Union County) — An adult male was fatally struck by an NJ Transit train early Monday morning near the Summit Station, authorities said.

Morris & Essex Line train 6907, which departed New York Penn Station at 12:34 a.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Dover at 2:13 a.m., struck the man at approximately 1:28 a.m., according to NJ Transit.

The identity of the victim was not released. No injuries were reported among the approximately 50 passengers or crew members on board.

New Jersey Transit Police are leading the investigation. No additional details were immediately available.
