Man pleads guilty to sexually assaulting 6-year-old in Warren County

BELVIDERE, NJ (Warren County) –  A Florida man has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a 6-year-old in Warren County, according to the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office.

Cameron M. Scrudato, 46, of Inverness pleaded guilty on Aug. 6 to second-degree sexual assault, officials said.

The sexual assault occurred in Phillipsburg in July 2018, authorities said.

Per the plea agreement, the State will recommend Scrudato be sentenced to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison, subject to the No Early Release Act, which requires him to serve 85% of his sentence before becoming eligible for parole. Additionally, he will be subject to Megan’s Law registration and Parole Supervision for Life. He is also responsible for the costs incurred by the county for his extradition, the prosecutor’s office said.

Scrudato is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 18.
