Mansfield fire company to host collectibles trade show, partner with CycloneCon

PORT MURRAY, N.J. (Warren County) — A Warren County fire company will host a collectibles trade show next month, teaming up with a nearby pop culture convention to offer a full day of activities for hobbyists and families.

The Mansfield Township Fire Company #1 will hold the Local Heroes Collectibles Trade Show on April 11. The event will bring together vendors and collectors focused on trading cards, comic books, toys, coins and other pop culture items.

Organizers said the fire company has partnered with CycloneCon, which will take place the same day at Centenary University in nearby Hackettstown.

CycloneCon is expected to feature more than 20 activities centered on art, horror, comics, video games and pop culture. The convention will include cosplay, children’s activities, food trucks and an exhibitor hall with nearly 100 local artists, authors, video game developers and vendors.

To encourage attendance at both events, organizers created a cross-promotion program. Attendees who purchase tickets to one event will receive a discount code to attend the other.

The trade show in Port Murray will include vendors offering trading cards such as Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Lorcana and One Piece, as well as sports cards and memorabilia, coins and currency, comic books, toys and other collectibles. Food and drinks will be available from Sauced and Rubbed, with presale vouchers offered.

Proceeds from the event will support the fire company’s equipment, operations and community outreach programs.

Organizers also credited several local businesses for sponsoring the event, including Centenary University, Living Spirits Distillery, First Place Tattoos, Sauced and Rubbed Fine Foods & Caterers, The Laughing Goat Coffee Bar & Eatery, Main St. Misfits toys and collectibles, Trash TCG and East Blue TCG.

Tickets for the trade show are available online.
