Monopoly game makes comeback at McDonald’s with new digital twist
The iconic MONOPOLY® Game at McDonald’s is returning to the U.S. for the first time in nearly a decade, the company announced. Starting Oct. 6, customers will once again be able to “peel and play” for prizes, this time with both classic physical game pieces and new digital game pieces available through the McDonald’s app.
The promotion runs through Nov. 2 and includes prizes ranging from free food to dream vacations, a 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, and even a $1 million cash prize. Customers can collect property pieces or win instant prizes by ordering select menu items and redeeming game pieces in-store or through the app.
“Our fans have been clamoring for the return of MONOPOLY at McDonald’s, and we’re thrilled to bring it back with a modern, digital spin,” said Alyssa Buetikofer, Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer of McDonald’s USA. “This game is a core memory for so many customers, and we’re excited that those memories can now be shared across generations.”
The MONOPOLY at McDonald’s menu includes more than 30 items, such as the Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Egg McMuffin, and large fries. Physical pieces are attached to packaging, while digital pieces appear directly in the app. Each game piece also offers a bonus play for a second chance to win prizes.
“MONOPOLY has been a cornerstone of play for nine decades, bringing families and friends together for fun and connection,” said Brian Baker, Senior Vice President, Board Games, NERF and PLAY-DOH at Hasbro. “Fans have been eagerly awaiting its return — and we can’t wait for them to experience the unforgettable excitement that MONOPOLY at McDonald’s delivers.”
Pre-registration for the game opened Sept. 29, with registrants earning 500 bonus MyMcDonald’s Rewards points. No purchase is necessary to play. More information, including a full list of prizes and official rules, is available at playatmcd.com.
