Morris County corrections administrative assistant Esther Jeffers retires after 26 years

MORRISTOWN, N.J. (Morris County) — Morris County corrections administrative assistant Esther Jeffers retired Friday after 26 years of service with the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, officials announced.

Jeffers began her career on May 5, 2000, at the Morris County Correctional Facility, where she served in an administrative role that supported daily operations of the facility. During her tenure, colleagues said she was known for her professionalism, dedication and compassion.

Officials said Jeffers played a key role in maintaining operational efficiency, handling a wide range of administrative responsibilities and providing continuity across departments. She was often described as a central figure in keeping the facility’s administrative functions running smoothly.

In addition to her work ethic, colleagues noted Jeffers’ positive influence on those around her, citing her faith, care for others and commitment to service. They said her presence left a lasting impact on the Morris County Sheriff’s Office and the many individuals she worked with over the years.

As Jeffers enters retirement, county officials expressed gratitude for her contributions and wished her continued health, happiness and fulfillment in the next chapter of her life.
