Morris County man arrested for DWI after allegedly sleeping in parked, idling vehicle

DENVILLE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A 52-year-old man from Budd Lake was arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI) after Denville police conducted a welfare check on his vehicle.

On Dec. 31, police conducted a welfare check on a vehicle parked and idling on East Main Street in Denville Township, police said.

During the course of the welfare check, it was discovered that the Jermaine Jackson was allegedly under the influence of alcohol. After failing field sobriety tests, Jackson was arrested for DWI, according to police.

In addition to the DWI charge, Jackson was issued summonses for reckless driving, careless driving, and having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle, police said.

Jackson was later released pending a court appearance.
