Mobile home destroyed by fire at Harmony Ridge Campground in Sussex County
FRANKFORD TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sussex County) — Firefighters responded Sunday evening to a mobile home fire at the Harmony Ridge Campground in Frankford Township, where a single residence was destroyed, officials said.
Shortly after 5 p.m., the Frankford Township Fire Department was dispatched to reports of a structure fire involving a mobile home. Upon arrival, crews found the mobile home fully involved in flames.
Branchville Hose Company was among the first mutual aid departments to arrive and began fire suppression operations. Additional crews from Frankford Township assisted with fire attack and overhaul as firefighters worked to contain the blaze and prevent further spread.
Sussex Fire & EMS and the Beemerville Fire Company were initially dispatched to provide additional support, but were later canceled as the incident was brought under control. The Blue Ridge Rescue Squad remained on standby throughout the response.
Fire units were able to clear the scene and return to service shortly before 7:30 p.m. No information on injuries or the cause of the fire was immediately released.
