Morris County man charged after alleged false 911 calls, damage to police processing room
MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A Budd Lake man was arrested after allegedly making repeated non-emergency 911 calls and damaging property at police headquarters in Mount Olive Township, according to police.
Police said officers responded to a residence in Budd Lake at 12:39 a.m. May 27 for a medical call. While officers were at the home, Dylan W. Blackwell, 44, of Budd Lake, allegedly became belligerent toward responding officers.
After the medical call was completed and officers left the residence, police said Blackwell began calling 911 without a legitimate emergency in an attempt to prompt officers to return to the home.
According to police, Blackwell placed a total of 12 calls to 911 despite being advised not to do so.
At approximately 2:31 a.m., officers returned to the residence and placed Blackwell under arrest.
Police said Blackwell was transported to Mount Olive Township Police Headquarters, where he was secured in the processing area. While being processed, he allegedly kicked a hole in the wall of the arrest processing room and refused to comply with fingerprinting procedures.
Blackwell was charged with causing a false public alarm by calling 911 without an emergency, criminal mischief, obstruction and failure to submit to identification procedures.
He was lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a court hearing.
