Morris County player wins $1 million Powerball prize as jackpot climbs to $1.1 billion
NEW JERSEY — A New Jersey Lottery player in Morris County won a $1 million Powerball prize Saturday night after matching all five white balls, missing only the Power Ball, lottery officials said.
The winning ticket was sold at Sunoco of Morristown, located at 299 East Hanover Ave. The numbers drawn were 01, 28, 31, 57 and 58. The Power Ball was 16, and the Power Play multiplier was 2.
Several other players across the state also scored major prizes. Five players won $50,000 each by matching four white balls and the Power Ball. Those winning tickets were sold in Bergen, Cumberland, Burlington and Camden counties, along with one ticket purchased through the Jackpocket app.
The $50,000-winning tickets were sold at Food Village in Garfield; Main Line Deli in Bridgeton; Wawa No. 8334 in Marlton; 7-Eleven No. 10923 in Mount Ephraim; and via Jackpocket. In addition, one New Jersey player won $50,000 by matching four white balls and the Double Play ball.
No one won the Powerball jackpot in Saturday’s drawing. As a result, the estimated jackpot for Monday’s drawing has climbed to $1.1 billion, with a cash value of $503.4 million. It is now the sixth-largest jackpot in the game’s history.
In the Double Play drawing, the numbers were 07, 11, 20, 52 and 60, with a Double Play ball of 24. The Double Play feature offers players an additional drawing with a top prize of $10 million.
Lottery officials said that since the current jackpot run began — after two players in Missouri and Texas split a $1.8 billion jackpot on Sept. 6 — New Jersey has produced 40 winners of prizes worth $50,000 or more. That total includes one $2 million winner, five $1 million winners and three $100,000 winners.
Powerball drawings are held Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
