HOLMDEL TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Monmouth County) — An 85-year-old Wharton Borough woman died Tuesday after suffering a medical episode and crashing her vehicle in the parking lot of the PNC Bank Arts Center, according to the New Jersey State Police.
Troopers responded to the crash at 4:32 p.m. in Holmdel Township, Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron, a State Police spokesperson, said.
A preliminary investigation found that the driver, identified as Nancy C. Johnston of Wharton, was exiting the parking lot in a Subaru when she experienced a medical episode and lost control of the vehicle, police said. The Subaru struck a parked Ford Bronco and two pedestrians.
Johnston sustained fatal injuries, police said. The two pedestrians were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
