Eight Roxbury High School singers selected for elite ACDA Eastern Division choirs

ROXBURY TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — Eight Roxbury High School students have earned places in the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) Eastern Division High School Honors Mixed and Treble Choirs, one of the most competitive choral ensembles in the region.

The selected students — Max Barton (11), Joe Borda (12), Jen Buczynski (12), Nora Doyle (10), Jasper Fernandes (12), Leah Nelson (10), Elizabeth Ricucci (12), and Caden Scire (12) — were chosen following rigorous auditions. The prestigious choirs draw top high school vocalists from across the northeastern United States.

The students will perform Feb. 25–28, 2026, in Providence, R.I., under the direction of two nationally recognized conductors: Cindy Ellis, director of choral activities at Miami Arts Studio in Miami, Fla., and Dr. Marques L.A. Garrett, choral composer and associate professor of choral studies at the University of North Texas.

Founded in 1959, the American Choral Directors Association supports choir directors nationwide through professional development, international programs and conferences. Its mission is to inspire excellence in choral music through education, performance, composition and advocacy.
