Mosquito spraying set for Monday in two Morris County towns

MORRIS COUNTY, N.J. — Crews are scheduled to spray for mosquitoes in parts of Morris County early Monday morning following an increase in adult mosquito populations, officials announced.

Weather permitting, treatments will take place Aug. 25 between 4 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. using all-terrain vehicles, according to county officials.

Spraying is planned at the following locations:

  • Morris Plains — Jim Fear Drive (Community Park Pool)
  • Morristown — Martin Luther King Avenue (Pocahontas Lake, Patriots Path)

Officials said the application will use either Anvil 2+2, which contains the active ingredient Sumithrin, or Zenivex E4, which contains the active ingredient Etofenprox.
