Motorcyclist, 20, dies after he was ejected in crash in Sussex County

MONTAGUE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A 20-year-old motorcyclist died after he was ejected during a crash in Sussex County on Sunday afternoon, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Charles Marchan.

The crash happened at around 5:18 p.m. on Route 23 southbound at milepost 52 in Montague Township, Marchan said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Yamaha motorcycle, driven by Ryan Woodstead of Highland Lakes was traveling south on Route 23 when a Chrysler Pacifica made a left turn on Route 24 and was impacted by the Yamaha, Marchan said.

As a result of the crash, Woodstead was ejected and suffered fatal injuries, Marchan said.

The crash remains under investigation and no additional information was available, Marchan said.
