
Mount Olive hair salon supervisor sentenced for sexually assaulting 16-year-old worker
MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) –A 44-year-old supervisor at a salon has been sentenced for sexually assaulting a 16-year-old worker in 2022, according to Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll.
Joseph Guzman of Mount Olive Township was sentenced on Aug. 16 to 3 years in New Jersey State Prison. He will also be required to register pursuant to Megan’s Law and will be on Parole Supervision for Life. He is not to have any contact with the victim or the victim’s family, Carroll said.
Guzman pled guilty on Oct. 27, 2023 to one count of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, Carroll said.
Guzman had been charged on Nov. 23, 2022, following an investigation conducted by the Mount Olive Police Department and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.
The investigation revealed that Guzman sexually assaulted a 16-year-old female victim at Joseph Vincent’s Salon in Mount Olive Township on Aug. 10, 2022. Guzman was the victim’s employer and supervisor at the salon, Carroll said.
