NJ Transit train strikes fallen tree in Morris County

MONTVILLE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A New Jersey Transit train struck a fallen tree Monday morning in Morris County, an agency spokesman said.

Around 6:09 a.m. in Montville Township, a NJ Transit train on the Montclair-Boonton line struck a small tree about 100 yards east of Fulton Street, said spokesman Everett Merrill. There were no injuries reported to the customers and crew.

The tree has been removed and the train was delayed 16 minutes, Merrill said.
