NJEDA to open applications for Route 80 Business Assistance Grant Program next week

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ – The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) will open applications for the Route 80 Business Assistance Grant Program on Tuesday, April 22, at 10:00 a.m.

This program is designed to support small businesses in Morris County that have experienced revenue declines due to lane closures on Route 80 caused by ongoing sinkhole repairs.

“I’m glad to share that starting April 22, local businesses impacted by the Route 80 sinkhole disaster can begin applying for much-needed relief through the Route 80 Business Assistance Grant Program,” said Sen. Bucco. “This grant program is a lifeline for the small businesses that have endured months of financial hardship due to lane closures and traffic congestion. Thank you, again, Governor Murphy and the NJEDA for working with us to deliver real support to our small business community and I encourage every eligible business to apply,” said Senate Republican Leader Anthony M. Bucco (R-25).

The Route 80 Business Assistance Grant Program will provide grants ranging from $1,000 to $15,000 to businesses and non-profits located near Route 80’s Exit 34, the epicenter of the sinkhole-related traffic disruptions.

Eligible applicants include small businesses and non-profits with up to 50 full-time employees.

To qualify, businesses must:

  • Be located in Morris County
  • Operate within a five-mile radius of Route 80’s Exit 34
  • Certify a negative financial impact of at least $1,000 for the first quarter of 2025

Applications open on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. and will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until available funds are exhausted.
