Overnight house fire damages Morris County home

JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — An overnight fire Monday caused significant damage to a home in the Milton section of Jefferson Township, authorities said.

Fire crews were dispatched at about 12:27 a.m. Monday to a reported structure fire at a residence on Schoolhouse Road. A second alarm was quickly requested after reports of flames coming through the roof.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a single-story ranch-style home with heavy fire conditions in the garage area and fire extending through the roof, officials said. Crews deployed multiple hose lines and were able to bring the fire under control.

All occupants were safely out of the home prior to firefighters’ arrival, authorities said. No injuries were reported.
