Overturned cement mixer in Morris County sends driver to hospital with minor injuries

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A cement mixer overturned Friday morning on Drakesdale Road near Route 206 in Mount Olive Township, sending the driver to the hospital with minor injuries, police said.

The incident was reported at approximately 9:17 a.m., when Mount Olive police received multiple 911 calls about the crash.

Authorities said the truck, which was fully loaded with concrete, overturned in the roadway.

The driver, a 40-year-old man from Rockaway, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Hackettstown Medical Center for evaluation.

Mount Olive police were assisted at the scene by the Flanders Fire Department, Atlantic EMS and the Morris County Hazardous Materials team.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
