Overturned kayak at Sussex County lake involved training kayaker, state police say

STILLWATER TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – State troopers responded Monday evening to a report of an overturned kayak in Swartswood Lake, but found no emergency upon arrival.

Troopers were dispatched at 6:19 p.m. to the lake off Morningside Drive in Stillwater Township.

Upon arrival, they made contact with the kayaker, who was not in distress and stated they were training and did not need assistance.
