Pedestrian fatally struck by SUV on Route 23 in Sussex County, state police say

MONTAGUE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sussex County) — A 71-year-old man was fatally struck by a vehicle on Route 23 South Tuesday morning in Montague Township, according to the New Jersey State Police.

Troopers responded to the crash at approximately 7:20 a.m. at milepost 51.7, where a Cadillac SUV traveling southbound struck a pedestrian who was in the roadway, State Police spokesperson Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said.

The pedestrian, identified as Thomas Brislin of Port Jervis, New York, sustained fatal injuries. No other injuries were reported.

The incident remains under investigation. No additional information has been released.
