Police clarify inaccurate information about location of 2021 human skull discovery in Blairstown Township
BLAIRSTOWN TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – The Blairstown Township Police Department has clarified inaccurate information circulating on social media about the location of a human skull discovered in October 2021.
On October 8, 2021, police were dispatched to a residence on Cobblewood Road after reports of a possible human skull found on the property. Upon arrival, authorities confirmed the skull was indeed human. A subsequent search of the area yielded no further remains or evidence. The Morris Tri-County Medical Examiner’s Office assisted on the scene.
The skull was sent to the New Jersey State Police Office of Forensic Sciences, where it was determined to belong to a female, approximately 21 years or older, and was postmortem for a significant number of years.
However, a post circulating on social media on the same day inaccurately referenced Bridge Street as the location of the discovery. The police have clarified that the correct location of the skull was Cobblewood Road, not Bridge Street.
The investigation into the origins of the skull remains ongoing.
