Police: Man accused of assaulting woman, refused to let her leave in Mount Olive Township
MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Flanders man has been arrested after he allegedly assaulted a woman and refused to let her leave the residence on Sunday night, according to police
On April 7, at 8:30 p.m., police responded to a residence in the Flanders section of the township for a report of an incident between 40-year-old Andrew Heller and a female, police said.
Upon arrival, the officer entered the residence and made contact with Heller, who was found sleeping inside. Before waking him, the officer located and removed multiple knives from his possession, police said.
Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that Heller assaulted the female, refused to let her leave the residence or request help, and made threats against her, police said.
Heller was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, possession of weapons for an unlawful purpose, and false imprisonment. He was lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a court appearance, police said.
