Purr-fect save: Cat rescued from utility wires in Warren County

HARDWICK TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A cat found itself in a precarious situation, as it was trapped on utility wires in Warren County.

On Thursday, Newton Animal Control responded to a cat that was trapped on utility wires on Sunset Lake Road in Hardwick Township and the rain was due to start shortly.

“What didn’t surprise us on this call was the level of community involvement and compassion,” Newton Animal Control said in a Facebook post.

Three women attempted to coax him down while keeping an eye on him and New Jersey State troopers responded and attempted to get a truck out there to assist, the post said.

Newton Animal Control received a phone call minutes after arriving on the scene from from Blessings Tree Service & Landscaping who offered to come out immediately free of charge but before they could get there, Planet Network pulled up with “two cat loving employees” who jumped right into action, the post said.

“After safely grabbing a very scared cat, they brought him down to me and he was contained,” the post said.
