Raritan Township hosts 7th annual Community Day at Lenape Park
RARITAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — More than 40 nonprofit organizations and food vendors joined township departments and first responders on Sept. 27 for Raritan Township’s 7th Annual Community Day at Lenape Park.
The family-oriented event featured music from a DJ and emcee, a petting zoo, inflatable attractions, sand art, lawn games, food trucks, a beer garden, and demonstrations for attendees of all ages.
Local nonprofits, township employees, and community groups participated to connect with residents and share information about their services. Sports teams, service clubs, school groups, cheerleaders, recreational organizations, and crafters were also in attendance.
The Flemington-Raritan First Aid and Rescue Squad, also known as “49 Rescue,” conducted a vehicle extrication demonstration using hydraulic rescue tools and offered tours of its emergency vehicles.
Township officials thanked the participating organizations and residents who attended. They said the event’s success relies on the contributions of community partners and encouraged residents to look forward to next year’s Community Day.
