Residential fire in Parsippany displaces occupants; one treated for smoke inhalation
PARSIPPANY-TROY HILLS, N.J. (Morris County) — A residential structure fire in Parsippany-Troy Hills on April 18 prompted a multi-agency response and left one resident hospitalized for smoke inhalation, officials said.
Fire crews were dispatched late Saturday night to a reported house fire and arrived to find a one-story, two-family home with heavy flames visible from one side of the building. Responders also encountered a downed live power line across the roadway, creating an additional hazard at the scene.
Firefighters worked to knock down the flames while conducting a search for a possible missing occupant, who was later confirmed to be accounted for. Additional crews assisted with fire suppression, ventilation and overhaul operations.
One resident was transported for treatment of smoke inhalation. The American Red Cross was called to assist displaced occupants with temporary shelter and other immediate needs.
Multiple fire departments, emergency medical services and police responded to the scene. Crews remained on site for several hours before clearing.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, officials said.
